CCS1 adapter support

Public·2 members

Done! Now what?

I’ve installed the bundle of wires with a board, the gen 4 ecu, and I’ve reinstalled the firmware. The information screen now shows CCS support as enabled. Is there a trick to getting the Tesla website to sell me the adapter? Still saying I have to wait for the retrofit in early 2023. I do prefer the official Tesla one over the 3rd party ones.

Some have reported a reboot of your car’s computer might help. Somehow the data on your car needs to be “uploaded” to Tesla’s server where the store can find it. It might just be a timed upload as well. Maybe also try again in 24 hours if you haven’t tried that already. Make sure you have good cell coverage for you car too.

Ideas on how to acquire a CCS1 adapter

Note! Tesla has officially released the CCS1 adapter for North America as of Sept 21, 2022. You must have the CCS adapter enabled FIRST in order to buy one from their store. The official retrofit kit will be sold in early 2023 but if you want it earlier, then try to get a Gen4 ECU from your Tesla SC and then buy the bundle of wires and enable CCS adapter on your car so that you can buy the official CCS1 adapter from Tesla for $250.
